When purchasing Insurance there are many extras that you can opt for. However keep in mind that adding such features may increase the premium being offered to you. Choose wisely the added covers which may be useful for you. Generally most Insurance Providers by default add in some added services as part of a package.

When purchasing Insurance there are many extras that you can opt for. However keep in mind that adding such features may increase the premium being offered to you. Choose wisely the added covers which may be useful for you. Generally most Insurance Providers by default add in some added services as part of a package.

Agency Repair – The option to have your car repaired in the Agency itself is a great benefit however there is a cost associated with it. The other option is to choose an external Garage of the Insurance company that is approved by them. Generally, most insurance companies provide upto 2 years of the vehicle age and some upto 3 years provided that you can issue a no-claims certificate.

Roadside assistance – Incase of breakdown/accident recovery truck services will be provided to you. These also include incase of battery failure or tyre replacements. Most insurance companies offer this as part of a package now.

Off-road cover – This covers the loss of damage to the vehicle being driven off-road. Due to the high risk Insurance providers stay away from this form of coverage. In case they do cover it, it will be usually upto 500m into the off-road cover.

Personal Accident cover for Driver – This provides financial compensation to the Driver of the Vehicle in case of unfortunate death of physical injury in case of an accident. Sum insured depends on the package but standard is approximately AED 200,000. In case your package doesn’t include the Driver cover, the standard cost is approximately AED 120/-

Personal Accident cover for Passengers – This provides the financial compensation for the Passengers in case of an unfortunate accident. Most companies charge AED 30/- per passenger or sometimes it’s part of a package.

Emergency medical expenses- As described it covers the medical expenses which are capped depending on the package you have chosen. Depending on the package it varies. Gold packages usually have a higher limit set. These emergency expenses are for the first 24 hours.

GCC Cover – This cover will provide you to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait. If you don’t intend to drive to these countries might as well avoid to save on the costs.

Oman Cover – This cover will provide you coverage in Oman which is also sometimes referred to the Orange Card. Most Insurance providers can charge anywhere from AED 150 – AED 650 for this coverage and very few may offer as a complimentary offer. Again keep in mind that if you have no intention to driver to Oman, then avoid paying for it incase being offered.

Personal Belongings Cover – This type of added feature covers your personal belongings due to an unfortunate accident which has a specified limit depending on the package being purchased.

Dent Repair – Usually in higher grade or Gold packages you will find coverage of Dent Repair which covers the cost of paint less Dent removal.

Windscreen Cover – This covers the costs associated with repairing or replacing in case your windscreen is damaged. Again this comes under higher packages.

Lock Replacement – In the event that you keys are stolen or lock has been damaged it will be covered in your policy. However please read the terms and conditions from the insurance provider to see exactly what they cover.

Fire and Theft cover – The Fire cover would be important to have to the extreme temperatures in this Region but on the other side being in a very safe country the theft coverage may not always be required. However both of these usually come as a package.

Rent a Car – Most insurance providers will give you an option of having a rent a car incase your car had an accident and is in the Garage. Usually you can opt for a 5 day / 7 day / 15 day to be included in your insurance policy

National calamities cover – This cover will take care of your vehicle incase of storms or floods or any other natural calamity.

There are few other covers that you can add on, but in most cases some come as part of packages and cannot be removed. As long as they are complimentary its ok, but if possible, you may be able to remove some covers to reduce your premium
